District Governor Lion Harry Smith, headed the 105W Lions family
Thanksgiving Service at St. John the Baptist Church, Sunday 14
October 2012. Organised by Keynsham Lions Club, the service was
attended by the Mayor of Bath, Councillor Andrew Furse; Mayor of
Swindon, Councillor Mick Bray; Mayor of Lydney, Councillor Bob
Berryman; Deputy Mayor of Devizes, Councillor Jim Gudgeon; Chairman
BANES, Councillor Rob Appleyard and the Rt. Hon. Jacob Rees-Mogg, MP
North East Somerset.
130 strong congregation and choir was led by the Rev. Dr. Stephen
were paraded by the Air Training Corp, the Army Cadet Corp and the 1st
Keynsham Scouts. A reading was by Keynsham Club President Lion Ken Hawker,
an Anthem by the Church Choir and a solo of the Welsh National Anthem.
District Governor Lion Harry read the Oath of Service and advised the
congregation that pledges had been received of £11,700 towards Lions
Clubs International Foundation.

Mounty concluded the service with Wesley's Exhortation.
Afternoon tea was
served in the adjacent Church Hall.
