Campaign SightFirst II

What: It's a stark fact. By the time you finish reading this page, one child somewhere in the world will have gone blind.

One child goes blind every minute

Childhood blindness is only one part of the global vision crisis. If nothing is done, experts say that the world's blind population could double from 37 million to 74 million by 2020.

Why: Lions will not allow, 'nothing to be done' because true to their commitment to be 'Knights of the Blind', Lions have launched Campaign SightFirst II to prevent this tragedy. CSF II has set out to raise at least US $150 million to continue and expand the extraordinary work of SightFirst, Lions worldwide programme to combat preventable blindness.

When: This campaign will stretch over a three year period from 2005 to 2008 and will embrace contributions from not only Lions but also members of the public in the form of personal gifts. Please send donations to your local Lions Club.

How: Your local Lions Clubs are playing a vital role in fund raising for Campaign SightFirst II. If you are able to contribute, for as little as £3.00 you could save the sight of one person.

Clubs can print off a Donation Form here and make cheques to, 'The International Association of Lions Clubs'. Send completed Form and donation to Lion Surinder.
