The
idea for 'Hope for Tomorrow' came from Christine Mills, who
addressed District Convention in March 2009.
'Hope for Tomorrow' is a national
cancer charity, which helps those with cancer, their families and dependents
cope with the reality of the situation. Funds raised will go towards the Mobile
Chemotherapy Unit project .........

Lion
Tony Buchan, 2009-2010 District Advisor for 'Hope for Tomorrow' actively
encouraged cash support from clubs in the District, to fund new mobile
chemotherapy units.
Lion
Tony said, "too many of us
are affected either directly or indirectly by cancer.
If we can help alleviate the stress that long district
travelling to chemotherapy treatments centres can cause, then we must do
so."
Already
two mobile units are operational and a third is expected to be completed
by the year's end.
The
ultimate aim for 'Hope for Tomorrow' is to have a mobile chemotherapy unit
based at all 38 oncology centres in the
UK. One unit,
which costs £150,000 to set up, can treat 20 patients a day.
